FetchV FetchV

Video Downloader

Download online media including M3U8/HLS, MPD/DASH, live HLS streams, and videos available directly through HTML Video (MP4/WEBM). Stream audio and video are converted directly to MP4 at the same quality, with no re-encoding. Conversion happens inside the extension; no external server is used.

Important notes

01

Keep this page open while downloading; do not close or refresh it. To view something else, hold Ctrl and click to open it in a new tab.

02

Due to platform policies, YouTube and DRM-protected videos are not supported. This is not a tool malfunction.

03

If a page is idle for too long, your browser may freeze or reload and interrupt the task. Save the file soon after the download finishes.

04

Download speed depends on your connection and the video host. The tool does not impose a speed limit. If it is slow, try another network or come back later.

05

Some sites load content dynamically. If a video is not detected, try playing it or refreshing the page, then try again.

06

We are not responsible for media downloaded by users. Please check its copyright status.

Frequently asked questions

What permissions does the extension need? Is it safe?

The extension requests only the permissions needed to read media requests and handle downloads. It does not access personal data unrelated to videos or upload anything.

Does FetchV collect or store my videos?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser. No video information or copies are uploaded.

Which sites are supported?

FetchV is not tailored to specific sites. Downloads generally work with media that follows HLS, DASH, or direct HTML5 Video (MP4/WEBM) standards. For sites using non-standard playback, the “Record” feature is an alternative.

Why could I download from a site before, but not anymore?

Sites may change their video players from time to time. This tool supports common, standard streaming formats, so a change in a site’s playback method may temporarily prevent direct downloads. Try the “Record” feature instead.

How can I detect more resolutions?

The extension usually detects all available resolutions automatically. Some videos require you to switch quality in the player manually before the corresponding resolution can be detected.

Why are videos not detected on some sites?

Some sites must be playing the video before it can be detected; others use non-standard playback technology. If detection still fails, try “Record”.

Why will my video not play?

If you cannot play or edit the exported video, it may be a codec issue. Install the latest codecs on your computer, or use a player with built-in codecs, such as VLC.

The exported video is garbled. What can I do?

Some non-standard HLS streams need special handling that the downloader cannot provide. Try downloading with the “Record” feature.

Why does the video have sound but no picture, or picture but no sound?

Some sites load audio and video separately. The tool usually combines them automatically, but may not recognize a few unusual cases.

Why does a task pause automatically?

After a request error, the extension retries and then pauses the task to avoid repeated failed requests. You can resume it manually later.

Do I need to keep the live video playing while downloading a live stream?

No. However, some users report that certain live-stream downloads end soon after they close the tab containing the stream. The site may be using a detection mechanism.

Why does recording a live stream stop on its own?

Some live-stream URLs expire after a while. The downloader ends the task when the URL can no longer be requested. Reload the page to capture a fresh URL and record again. Keeping the stream page open may also extend the URL’s lifetime.

Are subtitles supported?

Embedded subtitles are supported automatically. For external subtitles (VTT only), the extension detects them while capturing, and you can select one before downloading. External subtitles are not added to the video; they are saved as VTT files alongside it. Most desktop players automatically load a matching subtitle from the same folder. Otherwise, select it during playback.

Can I download multiple videos at once?

Yes, but downloading several large videos at once is not recommended. Download data is cached in the current tab’s memory, and larger videos use more memory. If your computer lacks memory or bandwidth, the tab may crash or tasks may fail.
