Video Recorder

Record most types of streaming video on web pages. Choose between Original Quality Capture and Real-Time Recording, record on-demand or live video, set a specific time range, and export the result as MP4.

Important notes

01

Before recording, set the source video to a fixed resolution instead of Auto to prevent its quality from changing automatically.

02

In Original Quality Capture mode, you can speed up playback or seek within the buffer bar to capture the video faster.

03

In Real-Time Recording mode, do not speed up playback or seek. The exported video will reflect any playback-speed changes or jumps.

04

If an Original Quality Capture recording has issues, such as audio and video being out of sync, try the more stable Real-Time Recording mode.

05

Keep this page and the page with the video open while recording, and keep the video playing. Do not close or refresh either page. To view something else, hold Ctrl and click to open it in a new tab.

06

Due to platform policies, YouTube and DRM-protected videos are not supported. This is not a tool malfunction.

Frequently asked questions

What is Original Quality Capture mode?

It extracts the video’s buffered data and converts it to MP4. Quality is preserved, and capture can be sped up (if your connection allows, speed up playback or seek within the buffer bar to fill the buffer faster). It does not support live streams and may produce out-of-sync audio and video.

What is Real-Time Recording mode?

It records the video and audio as they play and exports them as MP4. Quality may be slightly reduced, and recording cannot be sped up (do not change playback speed or seek while recording). It supports live streams and is more stable than Original Quality Capture.

Can I record any video?

Most videos can be recorded, except DRM-protected videos and videos delivered directly through an HTML Video element. YouTube and some specific sites are also unsupported.

Why does the recorder say there is no video to record?

Some sites create the video element only after playback starts. If the video on the target page is not playing, start playback and try again.

Why will the exported recording not play?

The source may use a codec that your local player cannot decode, such as HEVC. Try a player with built-in codec support, such as VLC or MPC-BE.

Can I record only a specific part of a video?

Yes. Set a time range before you start recording. This feature is not available for live videos.

Why did a task end before recording was complete?

If an error occurs after some of the video has been recorded, the extension will try to end the recording and complete the task automatically.

Why does the recorder keep waiting after I start recording?

If the recording source is not sending data, the recorder receives no response and remains in the waiting state. There can be several causes; try closing the related pages and starting again.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and other Chromium-based browsers on desktop. Mobile browsers are not supported.

Is recording free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no limits on the number of recordings or how often you use it, and no hidden caps.

Does the extension collect my usage history?

No. It does not collect usage history or other usage data, including error logs unless you choose to share them. Everything is processed locally in your browser.

Can I record multiple videos at the same time?

Yes, there is no set limit, as long as your computer has enough memory and CPU capacity. Recording uses memory for buffering and CPU for processing, so longer recordings use more resources.
