Due to the diversity of network environments, operating system versions, and browser versions, unexpected errors may occur when using FetchV to directly download m3u8 videos. To address these errors, FetchV provides a "Record Mode" to bypass them. When you encounter the following three situations, "Record Mode" may be able to help you:
- The extension program fails to capture the resource address of the video.
- The download task is forcibly paused due to excessive error requests.
- An error message is displayed during the download, preventing the task from continuing.
In fact, "Record Mode" converts the buffer data in the video player into an mp4 video. Therefore, as long as the video can be played online, it can be downloaded using this method. However, compared to direct downloading, this method is less efficient because it requires the video to keep playing to ensure that the buffer data is continuously loaded for "recording" to take place.
Here is an example of using "Record Mode":
Open the target webpage (the webpage where the video you want to download is located) and click the extension icon at the top right corner of the browser.
Click the "Record" button. At this point, a prompt may appear asking you to confirm the video's playback quality. Click "OK".
The extension program will open a new tab to receive and process the buffer data of the target video.
If you want to speed up the "recording" progress, you can drag the playback progress bar to the end of the buffer bar (note that it is the end of the buffer bar, not the end of the video player's progress bar).
When the video buffering is complete, the "recording" is also complete. At this point, you can save the video.
